- Conducts and directs examinations of IDI's and makes a full determination of all other factors and causes, unsafe and unsound practices, and violations of laws and regulations which have affected or may affect the condition and soundness of the institution under examination. - Appraises and classifies assets; analyzes liabilities and capital; reviews dividends and charge-off policies; analyzes earnings trends and future prospects and evaluates management and the soundness of its policies, procedures and practices; and analyzes an institution's liquidity position; and sensitivity to market risks. - Conducts and/or participates in meetings with insured depository institution officials and/or boards of directors to discuss the findings of the examination, discuss corrective programs and obtain commitments for correction of deficiencies. - Prepares and submits confidential reports of examination and, as circumstances dictate, coordinates joint or concurrent examination activities with State examiner counterparts. - Assigns, directs and reviews the work of Financial Institution Specialists, assistants and/or other examiners. Serves as coach and mentor to less tenured and non-commissioned examiners. Trains and evaluates the progress of personnel working under his/her direction. Provides feedback and to Field Supervisor and provides input to rating officials regarding Performance plans. Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing examinations of insured depository institutions to evaluate the safety, soundness and risk posed to the insurance fund. Applicant must be a commissioned Risk Examiner. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors - if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
