Montgomery County Community College is seeking applications for a part time Web Application Developer. The PT Web Application Developer designs, builds, maintains, and supports websites and web-based applications. The position works with other IT staff and College internal and external partners to understand business needs and translate them into new solutions. The position also implements best practices and College style standards in the management of website content.
Qualifications/Skills:
Bachelor's Degree and/or relevant experience and certifications. Demonstrable experience with large-scale web design and implementation as well as mobile-optimized web development. 3-5 years' experience with web development tools and web application frameworks, including Web CMS, SharePoint, ASP.NET, and C#. Experience with web-based applications, SQL Server or equivalent experience with relational databases in Client Server operations. Hands-on development experience with various web technologies such as JavaScript, XML, JQuery, AJAX, Java, PHP, HTML5 or Python. Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified Software Developer: Web Applications certification. Experience with user-centered and mobile-first/responsive design. Experience with the Joomla CMS and SharePoint 2013 preferred. Experience in the development of custom web applications that integrate with existing, commercial enterprise systems such as an ERP system (Colleague Ellucian products a plus), CRM system, scheduling system, etc. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written format. Experience developing within web applications within Microsoft systems and development tools. Experience with the Adobe creative suite. Familiarity with best practices in user accessibility & ADA compliance. Excellent customer service skills.
