. Lead programming effort for numerous software development projects (product features, client implementations, and platform innovations)
2. Analyze, design, plan, and program complex software solutions
3. Consistently create high quality software that meets design and requirements specifications on stated timelines
4. Performs complex bug verification, testing, and program support for various products
5. Provide technical assistance, mentorship and guidance to junior software developers
Critical Skills
o Strong application design skills and understanding of enterprise software design patterns
o Thorough understanding and experience working with object-oriented languages like Java or C#
o Experience working with functional programming languages like Scala, Clojure, etc. is preferred
o Experience working with scripting languages like Python or Ruby is preferred
o Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and proficient in building RESTful and SOAP-based Web Services
o Experience with relational database design and modeling
o Experience with Hibernate and Java Persistence API (JPA)
o Experience with relational database management systems (Oracle, SQL Server)
o Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, etc. is preferred
o Experience working with various testing methodologies, including test-driven development (TDD), behavior-driven development (BDD), and unit testing (using JUnit / TestNG)
o Experience developing web applications with high performance needs
o Experience with performance-monitoring and tuning of JVM-based applications
o Good understanding of Map Reduce programming model and technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, etc.
o Experience deploying, managing, and configuring applications in cloud environment (Amazon EC2, for example)
o Experience with Tomcat, Websphere, or Weblogic application servers
o A demonstrated understanding of cloud scalability is preferred
o Some healthcare industry experience is preferred
o Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle in Agile environment
