THE OPPORTUNITY The Print Production Manager will coordinate all aspects of assigned projects from collaborating on product concept through file delivery.
The Print Production Manager will ensure team adherence to process, schedule and budget working in concert with all department stakeholders.
Assigned projects include mixture of both print products and digitally delivered content.
QUALIFICATIONS A minimum of five years of experience in 1/c and 4/c bog and magazine print production.
Solid understanding of all stages of book manufacturing including estimating, scheduling, color correcting, printing and binding techniques, and materials Highly organized self-motivated team player who is flexible and able to prioritize a busy workload Detail-oriented and meticulous Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite Excellent communication and written skills Exemplary time management and organizational skills Ability to complete work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment RESPONSIBILITIES This person will manage all aspects of manufacturing related to the physical details of new publication titles for a high volume of magazines and books The Production Manager will coordinate logistics of all printed materials from start to finish and serve as a liaison between the editors, designers, and outside vendors including printers, designers, and shippers Must be able to work with domestic and international vendors on varied book formats and be able to handle special projects as they arise, on budget and on time - Obtaining competitive manufacturing pricing on new projects - Researching new vendors and staying up to date on available materials and supply chain issues - Requesting and assessing book dummies; confirming and ordering materials for each project in a timely manner - Establishing and monitoring production schedules and budgets - Reviewing color proofs against artworks, and with relevant parties Resolve or escalate queries throughout the production process, in consultation with Editorial Director, Design, and Editorial staff Reviewing and approving proofs for print.
Communicating with vendors and resolving quality issues as needed - Work closely with distribution manager to communicate schedule and details for forthcoming titles to ensure timely shipping and distribution of all titles and advanced notice to all relevant teams for sales and promotional purposes.
